The people who rated this a "1" probably never worked with interlocking cam technology that provides that most stable platform on which to work. Either that or they didn't take time to read and understand the VERY EASY INSTRUCTION MANUAL that comes with the unit.

This unit was easy to assemble; it took 45 minutes max, even with interruptions. The cart is stable (it supports a 19" LCD Monitor and Dell 530 Inspiron system unit) and looks great. It is a great buy for the money.

Sure...it's no hand-me-down for centuries but it is inexpensive, sturdy and reliable. Get it, assemble it PROPERLY and you won't have anything to worry about.

Fair Product at an Ok Price March 9, 2009 Reviewer:  Picky&Cheap! "Jenn" (Dallas, TX)  See all my reviews >

I've owned this desk since a little before Christmas (it's March now)and it's still holding up. I have my entire computer sitting on the desktop. That is my CPU and a big CRT monitor. It still isn't sagging. I also have speakers and a cordless phone on top. I have a bad habit of putting my feet on the bottom piece too, and it's hasn't given way yet. The keyboard drawer has also been pretty sturdy, I rest my arms on it all the time. The directions for assembly could have been a little more clear (it would help it they would put words AND pictures, instead of pictures only). I would have also preferred a choice in colors, light wood really isn't my thing (and considering the popularity of darker stains lately, I'm sure I'm not the only one). But overall, I give it 4 stars. It's probably about as good as you're gonna get for a cheap desk at this price.

Inexpensive and cheap desk November 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Heather T "Heather T" (Lakewood OH)  See all my reviews >

I've purchased three desks from another company that look extremely similar to this desk (...) and for 10 more you can get an AWESOME desk.

This one was easy to put together and only took me about 1/2 hour (I am experienced at putting furniture together!) but I was very disappointed at with the locking parts (cams). They were plastic!!! I stripped one or two out very quickly, but was able to assemble the desk.

I painted the desk so I don't think that I'll have to worry about it falling apart. However, the particle board is very thin and I am happy that I am putting a flat panel monitor on it.

Maple Computer Cart November 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Mommy to Nathan "Heather T" (St Charles, MO, USA)  See all my reviews >

This would be a nice compact computer desk if the keyboard tray wouldn't break when you put a finger on it. It is so flimsy and does not stay in place no matter what you do. I have had to nail it in place, so now it doesn't move in or out. I will be buying a new one VERY soon. Don't bother.

Very Flimsy August 30, 2007 Reviewer:  kristilee (pennsylvania)  See all my reviews >

I got this cart two months ago and have been dissapointed. The first box I took home from the store, when opened, revealed damaged and smashed parts so that I had to return it and exchange it for a new one. When I got it home the directions were somewhat difficult to understand and it took me a while to figure out, through trial and error, how the fasteners worked (and I am generally pretty good and reading directions and putting things together.)

After getting it together and putting it through eight weeks of normal use, the keyboard holder has fallen off three times and my husband has had to drill new holes and replace the inadequately small screws that came with it with much larger screws, that will actually hold the keyboard platform onto the rollers. The top of the desk is sagging under the weight of the monitor....I guess this is meant for lightweight flatscreens only? Who knows. Also the weird fastener things do not hold tightly enough and I ocaisionally have to push the sides of the cart back in to their proper places under the top, otherwise they pull apart too widely to support the keyboard platform. The only good thing I can say about it is that it was really cheap.

Inexpensive, simple, and serves its purpose May 27, 2009 Reviewer:  Nature Chick See all my reviews >

I've had this cart for over 1 year. It's easy to assemble (30-45 mins) and the price is right. I use it in a nook of my small apartment. The desktop holds my monitor, speakers, a slim lamp, pencil holder, and a few other things. It's big enough for some note-taking but not as a serious work surface for books, etc. The keyboard tray is sturdy (just don't pull it out the entire way) and its height is perfect. The lower shelf accommodates my Gateway and my larger computer speaker. There's space for your feet, also. I really like this desk. It's sturdy for stationary use. It loses a star for not being useful as a cart that can be moved around much, especially when loaded down. I'll be getting another one, as my fiance will need it for his computer when we're married.

GREAT BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!!!! April 12, 2009 Reviewer:  Content "Shadow2006" (Ashburn, VA.)  See all my reviews >

This computer cart is a great price for what you get. It is sturdy. It looked easy to assemble from where i was standing:) The wheels make it easy to move around to where you want it to go. It's nice and compact. All the pieces fit properly with no complications. When it is all put together it looks like you paid alot more for it then you really did. Doesn't look cheap at all. Very impressed.

Good, not great October 5, 2009 Reviewer:  mom of 1 (Minneapolis, MN)  See all my reviews >

This desk was easy to put together, but after a few weeks the "trim" along the bottom panel began to peel away (it's now gone). In addition, the pull-out keyboard shelf is very sticky and does not slide without a lot of effort. All in all, worth the money, but not a great desk by any means.

Versatile and functional at a great price August 22, 2009 Reviewer:  Happy Student "C.W." (Grand Rapids, MI, USA)  See all my reviews >

I am really pleased with this item. It fits basically anywhere, rolls about easily, and is very functional. The keyboard shelf that pulls in and out is my favorite feature. There's enough room on top for a 20" monitor, desk lamp, mousepad, pencil cup, notepad, etc. Also, it has the clearest instructions I have ever seen for assembling furniture!

If you're not crazy about the maple finish, I think you could easily paint it the color of your choice and it would look super cute! Overall, I think it's a great deal!
